Commercial Office Equipment
As a Senior Account Manager at a Canon dealership, Greg sold commercial office equipment to businesses throughout the Greater Boston area, building relationships and competing in a crowded, highly competitive marketplace.
Sales101.org is built on more than 30 years of real B2B selling experience — the conversations, relationships, lessons, mistakes, wins, and human moments that teach you what selling is really about. It is the work of Greg Blagden, B2B sales professional, founder of Sales101.org, and author of The Rhythm of a Sale.
Long before sales became a career, I was learning how much business depends on people — how they communicate, what they value, what earns their trust, and what makes them comfortable moving forward.
Over more than three decades in B2B sales and business development, I have worked through the entire selling process: prospecting, opening conversations, developing relationships, discovery, presentations, negotiation, follow-up, and closing. Much of that career was spent selling commercial office equipment and medical dictation systems in highly competitive markets.
That experience taught me something that has stayed consistent regardless of the product, technology, or market: the fundamentals of good selling do not change very much. Buyers still want to be heard. Trust still matters. Timing matters. Good questions matter. And the salesperson who genuinely understands the customer is usually in a much better position than the salesperson who simply knows how to pitch.
The ideas shared on Sales101.org come from firsthand experience working with businesses, decision-makers, hospitals, and complex sales opportunities — not from theory alone.
As a Senior Account Manager at a Canon dealership, Greg sold commercial office equipment to businesses throughout the Greater Boston area, building relationships and competing in a crowded, highly competitive marketplace.
Earlier in his career, Greg managed sales for digital dictation systems at Sudbury Systems, working closely with major hospitals throughout Massachusetts and navigating longer, more complex sales cycles.
Sales101.org brings those decades of experience together in practical articles about sales process, communication, human behavior, buyer psychology, relationships, negotiation, and professional growth.
Tools change. Markets change. Technology changes. But the human side of selling remains remarkably consistent.
Alongside decades of field experience, Greg's background includes formal sales training from respected organizations and methodologies. Those programs helped sharpen the fundamentals that real-world selling continued to reinforce.
Sales101 connects field experience, formal sales training, practical sales education, and the ideas developed in The Rhythm of a Sale. The common thread is simple: effective selling depends on timing, trust, listening, judgment, and understanding the buyer.
Sales101.org is where I share the lessons I wish every salesperson could have access to early in their career — along with the lessons that become even more valuable after you have been selling for years. Those lessons also form the foundation of my book, The Rhythm of a Sale. My goal is not to offer gimmicks or pressure tactics. It is to help sales professionals understand the fundamentals, think more clearly about the customer, and become better at the human side of selling.
Whether you are beginning a sales career or refining an approach built over decades, there is always another conversation to learn from.
